Pigeon & Pest Bird Control

Why Pest Birds Are a Problem
- Droppings are acidic and corrode roofing, metal, paint and stone.
- Nests and debris block gutters and drains, causing water damage and fire risk.
- Build-up on walkways and stairs creates slip hazards and liability risk.
- Roosting birds attract ticks, mites, cockroaches and rats.
- Droppings contaminate stock feed, stored products and machinery.
Health Risks to People
- Pigeon droppings, feathers and nests can carry bacteria, fungi and parasites. While illness is uncommon, the risk increases when dried droppings build up and are disturbed, releasing dust that can be breathed in.
- Diseases linked to pigeon droppings include psittacosis, cryptococcosis and salmonella. People with weakened immune systems, the elderly and young children are most at risk.
- Roosting pigeons also attract ticks, mites, cockroaches and rats, and droppings on walkways and stairs create slip hazards.
- WA Health advises wearing a respirator, goggles and protective clothing when cleaning heavily soiled sites. Our cleaning and nest removal service is carried out with the right protective equipment, so you and your staff don’t have to take the risk.

Cull + Proof: Our Complete Approach
Shooting alone only gives short-term relief, because new birds move in to fill the gap. WA Health recommends combining control with exclusion and removing food sources for lasting results. That’s exactly how we work.
Quiet, Precise Culling
We use a low-noise .22 PCP air rifle approved for pest control, which suits sheds, warehouses, rural buildings and sensitive sites. Every shot is recorded on a digital day/night scope, and all carcasses are collected and disposed of.
Bird Spikes and Netting
Once numbers are down, we install bird spikes on ledges, ridgelines and beams, and UV-stabilised netting to close off roof spaces, eaves, loading bays and sheds. For large or specialist installations, we work with trusted proofing partners.
Cleaning and Nest Removal
We remove nests, droppings and debris, and clean and sanitise affected areas using proper protective equipment. This removes health hazards and stops birds being drawn back to old roosting sites.
Prevention Advice
We show you how to remove the food, water and nesting spots that attract birds in the first place, so your results last.
Ongoing Service Plans
Pest birds are rarely a one-off problem. Where it’s needed, we’ll recommend a service plan at your site assessment, with regular follow-up visits to keep numbers down and check proofing is holding.
How It Works
- Site assessment: we inspect the site, identify roosting and nesting areas, and assess safety and access.
- Written plan: you receive a clear plan and price covering control, proofing and cleaning.
- Control and proofing: we reduce bird numbers, then install spikes or netting and clean up.
- Report and follow-up: you receive a written report, and an ongoing service plan if it’s needed.

What Our Clients Say
“We had foxes coming onto our property and pigeons making a mess of the shed. Peter came out, had a look, and explained exactly how he’d deal with it. He was safe, quiet and respectful of the neighbours, and the problem was sorted in a few visits. Easy to deal with and I’d happily recommend PVPM.”
